立法院副院長洪秀柱日前已獲得國民黨全代會通過提名，將代表藍營參選2016總統，不過至今仍有傳言指稱，若洪秀柱表現不好，仍有可能換人；甚至外傳國民黨主席朱立倫與立法院長王金平曾密會，討論若洪秀柱不行，將換副總統吳敦義與王金平的「吳王配」上場。
對此，王金平27日在立法院受訪時表示，他與朱立倫自19日全代會後就沒有會面，相關傳聞並非事實。王金平說：『(原音)在719那天有啦！後面我們有談了一段時間。(記者：現在有個劇本是吳王配，如果柱柱不行的話，就換你跟吳敦義上場？)沒有這回事吧！』
媒體追問王金平先前與朱立倫見面時是否曾談到如何幫忙大選？王金平說，他不便透露，但目前還未進入實質的輔選討論，未來將會與國民黨部一同討論。
另外，針對反課綱學生日前夜闖教育部，遭教育部長提告；王金平說，他對此事並不清楚，不便做任何表示，但仍希望事情能夠圓滿落幕。王金平建議，若能給學生愛與尊重的感覺，再多做溝通，相信事情仍然有解。
